Obsess About Jesus

Every day we get closer to the moment that we will actually meet Jesus.  The goal should be that when we meet Him, we be more like Him than we ever were–that there be less of the world in us than ever was.  Why would we live in such a way that takes us further away from Him if we are going to stand before Him soon?

The truth is, we forget this.  We are not inspired to live radically.

We do not take into account the seriousness of meeting Christ face to face because we become deceived and distracted by the many other things that can take our attention away from Him at any given second.

If we spent our every waking moment consumed with considering our physical lives worth nothing, but giving our attention to the eternal, we would be spiritually minded.  Instead, we get caught up in our anxieties and our problems.  We must start living like their is nothing left on this earth for us and start living like THE MOST important thing in the world to us is Jesus.

If people do not know this about you, my question is–Why?  I don’t want to guilt anyone into living for Christ.  What I mean to communicate is, “why live any other way?”

It is this type of life that will grant us every peace and comfort that we truly need.  It is this type of life that, when we are in our dying moment, and our spirit lifts out of our body and travels to the presence of the Lord, that we will truly be ready and eagerly waiting to see Him!

Could you imagine living your life, believing you’ll go to heaven, but not wanting to die because you are afraid that He will be disappointed in you, or afraid that you might not really enjoy the presence of Jesus??!!  I believe that this will be, and is, the lot for all those who do not daily make the Lord their obsession.  Don’t worry what others think, there is a remnant who cares this much.

Romans 13: 11-14 “The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.  Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.  Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”
